The Crossover Arm Stretch is a stretching exercise that targets the shoulders and upper back muscles. It helps to improve flexibility and range of motion in the shoulder joints.
How to perform
To perform the Crossover Arm Stretch, follow these steps:1. Stand up straight with your feet hip-width apart.
2. Extend your right arm out to the side at shoulder height.
3. Bring your left arm across your body and hook it under your right arm, placing your left hand on your right shoulder or upper arm.
4. Gently pull your right arm towards your body, feeling a stretch in your right shoulder and upper back.
5. Hold the stretch for 15-30 seconds, breathing deeply and focusing on relaxing the muscles.
6. Release the stretch and switch sides, extending your left arm out to the side and crossing your right arm over to stretch the left shoulder.
7. Repeat the stretch on both sides 2-3 times.
It is important to perform this stretch slowly and gently, avoiding any jerky movements or bouncing. Listen to your body and never push yourself into a painful stretch. Stop if you feel any discomfort or pain.
