The Cable Concentration Curl is a variation of the traditional concentration curl exercise that targets the biceps specifically. This exercise allows for constant tension throughout the movement by using a cable machine.
How to perform
Step by step instructions:1. Set up a cable machine with a low pulley attachment and attach a single handle or rope to the cable.
2. Sit on a bench positioned in front of the cable machine with your feet flat on the ground and your knees at a 90-degree angle.
3. Grab the handle with an underhand grip and position your elbow against the inside of your thigh, allowing your arm to hang straight down.
4. Keep your back straight and core engaged throughout the movement.
5. Curl the handle towards your shoulder while keeping your elbow stationary and your upper arm still against your thigh.
6. Squeeze your biceps at the top of the movement and then slowly lower the handle back down to the starting position.
7. Repeat for the desired number of reps and then switch arms.
8. Make sure to control the weight and focus on proper form to avoid using momentum to lift the weight.
9. To increase the intensity of the exercise, you can slow down the tempo of the movement or use heavier weights.
Equipment required
Cable
Cable equipment consists of adjustable pulleys attached to weight stacks that allow for resistance training. This equipment is commonly used for strength training exercises that target various muscle groups in the body, such as chest, back, arms, and legs. Cable equipment provides a versatile and functional way to perform exercises that mimic real-life movements, improving muscle endurance, stability, and coordination.
