How to perform

To perform the Jack Knife Sit-Up:

1. Lie down on a mat with your legs extended straight out in front of you and your arms extended straight up above your head.
2. In one smooth motion, engage your core and lift your upper body and legs off the mat, bringing your hands towards your toes.
3. At the top of the movement, your body should form a V shape, with your legs and torso meeting in the middle.
4. Slowly lower back down to the starting position, keeping your core engaged and controlling the movement.
5. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

It's important to keep the movement controlled and avoid using momentum to swing your body up. This exercise can be challenging, so it's important to start with proper form and only increase difficulty or repetitions as you build strength.

Equipment required

Band
Band equipment consists of elastic bands or tubes that provide resistance during exercises. They are commonly used to strengthen and tone muscles, improve flexibility, and increase range of motion. Bands are versatile and can be used for a variety of exercises targeting different muscle groups, making them suitable for strength training, rehabilitation, and physical therapy. The resistance levels can be adjusted based on the tension of the band, allowing for progressive overload and customization for individual fitness levels.
